DZG magazine SYNERGIE awarded with Berliner Type in Silver

The SYNERGIE magazine of the German Centers for Health Research has won the Berliner Type in Silver. The Berliner Type competition has been honoring the best print products from Germany, Austria and Switzerland for 53 years.

Research for health – under this motto, the German Centers for Health Research (DZG) report twice a year on projects and successes in translational research in the magazine SYNERGIE. The magazine for health research shows how interdisciplinary research can help people achieve better health. The agency wirDesign communication AG is responsible for the graphic design and conception of SYNERGIE.

SYNERGIE has now been awarded the Berliner Type Silver in Prize in the B2C-Magazines category. With the award, the jury honored the expressive design of the SYNERGIE magazine, which shows with intense color, precision and vividness the diversity and depth of the research topics with which the DZG are committed to combating major widespread diseases.

A total of more than 80 sites with more than one hundred participating universities, university clinics and non-university research institutions make up the German Centers for Health Research established between 2009 and 2012, teh German Centers for Infectious Diseases (DZIF), Cardiovascular Diseases (DZHK), Lung Diseases (DZL), Cancer (DKTK), Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) and for Diabetes Research (DZD).

The DZGs work closely together to share experience and exploit synergies. In this way, they aim to develop better therapies and diagnostic procedures for the major common diseases. The DZG are funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Bundesländer.
