Acute Lung Injury and Pneumonia
A number of different microbial as well as chemical or physical triggers can damage the lung and trigger an inflammatory reaction. It is an aim of the DZL to improve the understanding of the underlying inflammatory process and to find ways to interfere.
Focus in ARCN:
Our work is dedicated to find structures that might be targets for therapeutic interventions. We’re focused on non-typeable Haemophilus influenzae bacteria which are occuring very often together with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) and also with COPD exacerbations.
