Research Profile

CPC-M, consisting of Helmholtz Zentrum München, Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU), University Hospital and Asklepios Clinics München-Gauting, is one of the biggest centers for translational research on chronical diseases worldwide.

Helmholtz Zentrum München is renowned for its expertise in the connection between basic research and applied medical research. LMU is on of the top German universities of the excellence program and carries out lung research and healthcare at the highest level. The Asklepios Clinics München-Gauting belong to the leading hospitals for lung diseases in Germany.

DZL site Munich (CPC-M) is focused on chronic lung diseases. Scientists link modern techniques of molecular and cell biology, pharmacology, molecular pathology and clinical medicine in order to develop new diagnostic methods and therapies. Moreover,  the Lung Information Service (www.lungeninformationsdienst.de) is located at CPC-M. The service provides information on lung research relevant for patients.

Director of CPC-M is  Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Erika von Mutius. She is supported by Franziska Hauptkorn as DZL manager.
