DGP Research Award for Thomas Bahmer
Congratulations to Prof. Thomas Bahmer! The DZL scientist from Kiel received this year’s Clinical Research Award of the German Respiratory Society (DGP). The pneumological society honors his work on the topic “Physical activity, lung function, breathable air, blood plasma: asthma phenotyping beyond blood eosinophilia”. Thomas Bahmer has published articles on this topic during the last two years in the journals Respiratory Research, European Respiratory Journal, European Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and Journal of Asthma and Allergy*. Together with Prof. Klaus F. Rabe (LungenClinic Grosshansdorf) he leads the adult arm of the DZL asthma cohort ALLIANCE.
Further DGP Research Awards went to Dr. Jan Kristoff Hennigs of the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (DGP prize for best basic research 2021) and DZL scientist Dr. Karla Rubio of the Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research (DGP prize for best basic research 2020).
All prizes are endowed with 10.000 euros. They were awarded yesterday during the virtual DGP Congress 2021.
