Martin Reck is one of the most cited scientists in cancer research
Prof. Martin Reck, Head of Oncology at LungenClinic Grosshansdorf, is one of the most cited researchers in the field of cancer research, according to a recent publication analysis by the magazine Laborjournal. Colleagues cited his work 52,000 times.
The Laborjournal analysed scientific articles published between 2013-2022 by researchers from German-speaking countries. Reck’s 218 papers published during this period were cited more than 52,000 times by other researchers. Only three people are ahead of him in this statistic. Among the top 30 are also the DZL scientists Prof. Rudolf Kaaks (DZL site TLRC) and Prof. Roland Eils (associated DZL partner BIH).
Three of Martin Reck’s research articles are among the ten most frequently cited articles. The background to this is the rise in research into so-called checkpoint inhibitors and immunotherapy. A total of seven of the top 10 papers deal with clinical trials of such substances or their combinations. In this area, Reck is working in particular on clinical trials for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
The Laborjournal regularly analyses how often the work of scientists from different disciplines is cited. The Laborjournal selects the ‘most cited minds’ as well as the most cited original and review articles. Two years ago, Martin Reck took first place in the ranking of the most cited scientists in the field of lung and airway research.
